We start at 7.30 in a light morning fog. When the fog disappears we are driving under the bright sun of Mexico. Along the road to El Fuerte, we see very old trees and we are amazed about them. As we enter into El Fuerte we are surprised about the nice Plaza de Armas. We walk around and take some pictures from this old centre witch is real Spanish. When we approach the mountains, the gravel begins and also the dust. We pass several small water crossings. Then we saw many nice view points and sometimes you could see the other side of the valley where the road twisted upon the mountain. Our cars are passed several times by a very good rider on his motorbike. On a curve he stops, and we too. We ask him if he has problems. Indeed, but at that moment he discovers our flat tire. With the help of this nice man of Mexico, and our Dutch friends, we manage to get the spare wheel on. Without a spare, we decide to cancel the detour to the Urique Canyon. After a good drive, we arrive about 17.30 at the special hotel Barrancas Mirador. It is cold outside, but the room and the atmosphere are very warm. We go to the bar.
