This will be the shortest write up of the longest day of 915km. We watched the sun rise at breakfast at 05:30 but the first to leave went at 06:00 and the last back in were 23:20.

After leaving the hotel we met quite thick fog only 10 km into the trip. Knowing it was a long way to go, it was ominous, but within another 20k the sun came out and sucked the fog up so quickly it could have been a vacuum cleaner.

We failed at the first detour to El Lobero; we could not find the gate so missed the views of the sea.

The small museum looked interesting but we passed at 08:30 and it did not open till 13:30!

The scenery was rolling scrub hills with cactus as tall as two storey buildings. Through the boulder fields we met an RV rally coming the other way. Odds on they do not do the Adventure Route.

Pleasant open roads with little to no traffic – a trial by distance rather than terrain.
